EICOSE, the first Innovation Cluster of ARTEMIS

In order to reinforce competitiveness and leadership of systems development industries in the fields of automotive, aerospace and railway, the sector has created a European cluster of partners called EICOSE (European Institute for COmplex and Safety Critical Embedded Systems Engineering). Bringing together outstanding European manufacturers and scientists, EICOSE provides an innovation environment fostering R&D on embedded systems development for safety critical embedded applications, focused in the transportation domain.

As the first ARTEMIS Innovation Cluster, EICOSE will impact the ARTEMIS Strategic Research Agenda by defining and harmonizing priority themes within the sector and among the partners, thus supporting the R&D efforts in European and national programs, most notably the ARTEMIS Joint Undertaking.

More precisely, EICOSE will:

develop enabling technologies for mastering safety, security, reliability and robustness of future embedded systems
support and expand an innovation eco-system allowing to share tools and technologies across the three domains: Automotive, Railways and Aerospace

harmonizing priority themes between partners and across domains
contributing to the ARTEMIS Strategic Research Agenda
coordinating harmonized large-scale research projects
implementing the relevant parts of the ARTEMIS Strategic Research Agenda.

EICOSE is the alliance of three internationally recognized regional clusters, the German competence cluster SafeTRANS and the French competitiveness clusters AEROSPACE VALLEY and SYSTEM@TIC PARIS-REGION, already bringing together major stakeholders.
